8.1 Garden Proposal 2023-6th Street

The proposal was withdrawn by the applicant.


8.2 Greenwave Proposal

That the Town enter into a contract with Greenwave to install a monitoring system on Jubilee Sports Centre at a cost of $35,000 over the first two-year period then monitoring cost of up to $300.00 after that.

8.3 CMC Shed

That Danny Rudyck be permitted to dismantle the shed on the Community Multi-Purpose Centre grounds and that the work be done on his personal time using any wood or materials salvaged from the shed as payment.

8.4 Seasonal Positions - Summer Student & VAC Lifeguard

1. Lifeguard, Laura Dyck - $14.22/hr
2. Lifeguard, Joshua Stumpf - $14.47/hr
3. Lifeguard, Mads Jorgenson - $14.22/hr
4. Lifeguard, Curtis Doering - $14.22/hr

8.5 Lot Purchase Request - Klassen

That the Town continue to lease Lot 8, Block 6, Plan D1000 to the Klassens for their seasonal business Lil Bean and that the Town retain ownership of Lots 8 and 9, Block 6, Plan D1000.

11.1 National Suicide Prevention Hotline

WHEREAS the House of Commons has pased a motion to adopt 998, a National three-digit suicide and crisis hotline;
AND WHEREAS the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for suicide prevention services by 200 per cent;
AND WHEREAS existing suicide prevention hotlines require the user to remember a 10-digit number and go through directories or be placed on hold;
AND WHEREAS in 2022 the United States will have in place a national 98S crisis hotline;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Rosthern recognizes that it is a significant and important initiative to ensure critical barriers are removed to those in a crisis and seeking help;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town of Rosthern endorses this 988 crisis line initiative.

That Council accept the resignation of Neal Isfeld as of June 30, 2021, with regrets.

12.2 Hire Administrative Assistant

That Jess Staffen be hired for the position of Administrative Assistant at a wage of $23.00 per hour with a start date of June 14, 2021.

12.3 Hire Bylaw Officer

That Riley Booth be hired for the position of Twin Rivers Bylaw Officer at a wage of $29.00 per hour with a start date of July 19, 2021.

12.4 FCM Grant Application

That the Town of Rosthern acknowledges that should the Federation of Canadian Municipalities grant application for the Jubilee Sports Centre Energy Conservation Monitoring Project through Greenwave Innovations be approved, no further projects within the municipality will be eligible for funding initiatives through the Green Municipal Fund’s Community Buildings Retrofit initiative.

12.5 Proclamation - Recreation and Parks Month

That council designate June as Recreation and Parks Month, in recognition of benniefits and values that recreation, parks and leisure services provide.

  1. Outside Seasonal Labourer, Luke Martens - $15.00/hr
  2. Lifeguard/Instructor, Dylan Sande - $15.47/hr
